The mental health and wellbeing of adults during COVID-19 pandemic survey

COVID-19, caused by the severe respiratory corona virus-2, was first described in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. It has since caused a global pandemic with over 8 million infections by July 2020. Pandemics such as COVID-19 cause stress and anxiety due to concerns about loss of health, life, and wealth. The challenges associated with access to healthcare can exacerbate pandemic-related stress. Stress-induced health concerns include anxiety, changes in concentration, insomnia, interpersonal conflicts, irritability, and reduced productivity. Being COVID-19 positive and having to experience stigmatization for having a history of COVID-19 can cause post-traumatic stress disorder.
